Face-to-Face Counseling

Face-to-Face Counseling is the traditional way to present symptoms, problems and conflicts to a counselor/psychotherapist in order to elicit compassionate, intelligent, supportive problem-solving responses from a professionally trained person. It can be reassuring for you as a client to be able to see me, experience my non-verbal behavior, tone of voice and mannerisms that can help us form a therapeutic alliance. After all, research indicates that your relationship with your therapist is probably the most potent curative factor, regardless of what system of psychotherapy is being employed.

You will know pretty quickly whether you think you can trust me, whether intuitively you feel we make a good connection, and that you want to continue with me in therapy. For me, as your therapist, face to face meetings have some of the same advantages as they do for you.
